OVERVIEW
We generally recruit two law clerks to work in our firm each summer. We prefer that candidates have strong connections to Western North Carolina. Our purpose in offering this program is twofold—to provide individualized opportunities for law students to learn about the practice of law and to become acquainted with young legal talent.
Our summer program provides a real-world law firm experience, with opportunities to:
- attend client meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, closings and other external events
- build relationships with our attorneys through work assignments, practice group meetings and events throughout the summer
- improve substantive and practical legal skills
- work with experienced lawyers on client matters
We hope that by exposing our clerks to challenging client work they will gain insight into the practice of law and our firm.
