Sabrina Presnell Rockoff

Sabrina is the Managing Shareholder of the Firm. Sabrina uses her own experience leading the Firm to provide employers with practical and comprehensive advice on human relations. Through her partnerships with regional organizations such as WCI, the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, and the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, Sabrina has a unique understanding of the issues affecting employers throughout Western North Carolina. Sabrina advises employers on difficult employee situations; conducts complex workplace investigations involving matters such as harassment complaints and fraud allegations; drafts executive employment agreements, employment policies, and employee handbooks; assists employers facing union-related issues including collective bargaining negotiations, union avoidance, and grievance arbitrations; and represents employers before governmental agencies and in federal and state court. Sabrina practiced for 10 years with large international law firms prior to returning to her hometown in 2012.

Client Successes

  • Served as Interim City Attorney for a local municipality during 2018 and 2019;
  • Argued an issue of first impression under the Americans with Disabilities Act before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in summary judgment for the employer;
  • Conducted investigation of sexual harassment allegations regarding executive-level employees;
  • Serve as counsel for local tourism development authority;
  • Defended a local government successfully through a jury trial and decision of the North Carolina Court of Appeals;
  • Prevailed in union arbitration for local manufacturer regarding pay during COVID-19 furlough;
  • Successfully represented several local restaurants in audits by the U.S. Department of Labor.
