John N. Fleming

John tackles corporate, business and health care law with a concentration on entity formation, contract review and drafting, employment agreement review and drafting, mergers, sales, acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and adding or buying out shareholders. He assists various sizes of businesses in a range of areas from manufacturing and high tech to physician and dental practices, including hospitals, foreign corporations, nonprofits and resorts. His clients include Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community, Mercy Urgent Care, Diamond Brand Gear Company, d+b audiotechnik, and Cataloochee Resort, Inc.. John joined McGuire, Wood & Bissette in 1995 after working with the law firm of Alston & Bird, since 1987.

CLIENT SUCCESSES

  • Negotiated the sale of Unicoi County Memorial Hospital to Mountain States Health Alliance
  • Represented parties in the $100M merger of St. Joseph’s and Memorial Mission hospitals, the two largest health care and medical providers in Western North Carolina
  • Negotiated the sale of Cataloochee Resort, Inc.
  • Handled the merger of Handi-Skills, Inc., with Goodwill Industries of North Carolina
  • Negotiated various business and governmental relationships to allow for the development of the public-private partnership that oversaw the renovation of the Grove Arcade Public Market
