The 28th Bar is also a valuable legal services source for members of the public. Those resources include pro-bono service, mediation support, referral services and support from city, county and state agencies. The 28th Bar is a subdivision of the North Carolina State Bar. There are 30 districts in North Carolina.
In addition to serving on the Executive Committee, Matt is a member of the Communications Special Committee, responsible for 28th Bar website content and weekly Bar Briefs newsletter. In 2017, Matt Joined the 28th Bar Pro-Bono Standing Committee. This important group facilitates between members of the Bar and pro-bono opportunities. It also helps Bar members participate in the “4All Statewide Service Day” (aka ask a lawyer) where people can ask for legal advice and appropriate referrals for their particular challenges. These events are sponsored jointly with the North Carolina State Bar.
