Upcoming MemoryCare Classes Open to Public

Upcoming MemoryCare Educational Events

Looking forward to this valuable education series from MemoryCare. McGuire Wood & Bissette is a proud supporter of the work MemoryCare does in our community.

Located in Asheville, N.C., MemoryCare is a non-profit charitable organization recognized for its pioneering work in community-based care of memory-impaired individuals. For most patients and families, this is what they want: to stay home as long as possible. It is our job to make that possible. Our approach, which has received national recognition for innovation, focuses on the caregivers as well as the patients. Through programs like the Caregiver College, caregivers receive the physical and psychological resources they need.

See the flyer below for dates and times for the courses running from April through the end of June. The presentations are free and open to the public but registration is required due to limited space.

To register call 828-771-2931 or email office@memorycare.org with your full name, phone number, physical address and which course(s) you would like to attend.

The Classroom is located at the SECU Center for MemoryCare on the campus of Givens Estates. 100 Far Horizons Lane Asheville, NC 28803. Click here for a Google map to the Center and here for directions.

Upcoming MemoryCare Educational Events

MemoryCare was established in 2000 in response to the need for a program that could provide excellent medical care for individuals with cognitive impairment and individualized support services for their families and caregivers.  MemoryCare welcomes all caregivers to participate actively in every office visit and engages more than three caregivers for each cognitively impaired person enrolled.  The organization’s success is directly related to this unique service that is different from any other in the region.

Through this integrated model of care, MemoryCare physicians are able to develop tailored care plans shared with all caregivers and medical providers that help manage the disease as well as possible. To better care for an individual with memory loss requires time and focused attention on both the individual with memory impairment and their caregiver(s).
