The Robert P. Wilkins Awards honor outstanding work for the periodical of the Law Practice Division, which are most likely to have a practical influence in shaping the action of lawyers in managing their practices and the practice of law in general. The award was received by Grella at the 2017 ABA Law Practice Division Fall Meeting held in Atlanta Georgia, and honors him for his work as columnist of the Managing Column in the Division’s Law Practice magazine. Grella is also recipient of the 2014 Sam Smith Award, presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in law practice management. Grella, a former Law Practice Management Section Chair, presently serves on the LPM Executive Committee in his role as a member of the ABA House of Delegates and also serves on the
Law Practice Magazine Editorial Board. He is a trustee of the College of Law Practice Management and a fellow of the National Institute for Teaching Ethics and Professionalism. At McGuire Wood & Bissette, Grella is a member of the firm’s Management Committee.
