Science and SundaesOn Thursday, September 14 members of the Leadership Asheville Forum (LAF) gathered in the lobby of McGuire Wood & Bissette for a good old fashioned ice cream social. LAF members gather regularly, often to hear talks from local thought leaders and innovators. On this evening members were invited to cross the street and explore our neighbor, the Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS).The museum is very hands-on as visitors are encouraged to interact with the exhibits. There was even a man there showing us his live bald eagle! No one wanted to get hands-on with the eagle though.
The mission of the Leadership Asheville Forum is twofold: (1) providing public forums on issues critical to the well-being of the Asheville-Buncombe County community; and (2) providing opportunities for members to network with other leaders in the community.
The mission statement for AMOS is as follows; “The Asheville Museum of Science is Western North Carolina’s home for experiential science learning, discovery, and exploration. AMOS strives to spark the imagination and foster lifelong curiosity.”
