Robert Oast’s Planning and Law Session Legal Issues in Planning for Community Resilience at The Collider

Attorney Bob OastRobert Oast presented during the Resilient Places: Planning For Our Future event that took place February 24-27, 2017 at The Collider. Mr. Oast presented his planning and law session titled “Everybody Talks About the Weather, but Nobody Does Anything About It: Legal Issues in Planning for Community Resilience.” Bob is an attorney and a certified planner with over 30 years experience in local government and land use. He was the City Attorney for Asheville for over 17 years, retiring in 2013. He also worked as City Attorney in Greenville, NC.

The Collider is a “non-profit innovation center focused on market-driven climate solutions,” and is headquartered here in Asheville, to take advantage of Asheville’s positioning as a center for climate-based data, science, and knowledge. Attendees included academics, planners, and health care professionals, some of them from local governments in the area.
