Douglas Owen Thigpen

Douglas works with clients in the real estate, banking, business and investment industries. He guides clients in achieving their financial and investment goals by advising them on purchasing, selling and exchanging real property. Douglas tirelessly works for clients ranging from professional associations to architects and construction companies. He wrote, “Deed and Division of Real Estate Issues” for the North Carolina Bar Foundation Continuing Legal Education, as well as “Resolving Property Line Problems” for the National Business Institute’s Continuing Legal Education. Among his national client list, representative clients include Mountain Retreat Association, Inc., Brown-Metcalf Construction, LLC, S. B.   • Advised parties in multi-state and intra-state exchange of investment properties by the Way Trust in Georgia, Florida and New Jersey, a transaction valued at $4.6M
  • Represented several local restaurants successfully in audits by the Department of Labor
  • Assisted with the successful multi-million dollar purchase and development of Walgreen’s drug stores in South Asheville, Boone and Wilkesboro
